Theirs but to do and die. (1)

It's Armistice Day, a holiday in France but not in Monaco. If you're free there'll be a memorial event at 11:00 at the Monument aux Morts in the cemetery. There's also a commemoration at 11:30 in the Maison de France, and at 17:30 this afternoon a mass in Chapelle de la Visitation for students of Lycee Albert 1er who were killed in battle. Note that all post offices will be closed.

Did you see the new Ferrari SF90 Spider speeding around the streets? I say "see", because the hybrid vehicle was in electric mode, so you wouldn't have heard its bronchial growling. Its visit to Monaco will be featured in the M6 channel programme Turbo in December.

A campaign has been launched to encourage Monegasques and residents to exchange their current ID cards for digital ones. Gazette de Monaco explains the advantages of the new cards and reports that the Surete hopes everyone will have one by 2023.

From 15 November to 19 December Carrefour will be providing empty shoe boxes for people to fill with Christmas gifts and good wishes. They'll be distributed to the disadvantaged and homeless in the region.

Health & covid

November is anti-smoking month and if you want to kick the habit there's a kit you can access by phoning 39 39, or visiting France's "tabac info service".

Free PCR tests are available for those returning to Monaco after the school holidays, and booster vaccines are now available for anyone over the age of 18 who was vaccinated over six months ago. Phone 92 05 55 00.

In France a bill has been passed that allows the Government to impose Covid health measures up to July 2022 without the need to involve parliament.

And finally...

No Finish Line starts on Saturday. Oh, and a big welcome home to Princess Charlene!
