What's new

It's Beaujolais Nouveau Day, and no doubt the vin primeur will be gracing the tables of a few Monaco restaurants. If like us you're not a fan, and you were too late to secure a seat at Club Vivanova's Shiraz masterclass, you'll just have to slum it with Billecart-Salmon Champagne at the Grands Chais Monegasques.

Another of Club Vivanova's events has a few places left, and it should appeal to the Principality's petrol-heads. Next Thursday, 23 November, the networking organization has a wine evening in Cannes at the Alghassan Motors showroom to check out the latest Aston Martins. Unfortunately you won't be able to test drive Bond's favourite car on the night, even if you're teetotal. The event starts at 17:00 and you should email club[at]clubvivanova to reserve a place.

And finally, there was a flurry of excitement at maBoum Mansion this week, when Facebook emailed to say the administrator of the discussion group Contre la Disparition Definitive des Concerts du Moods Monaco had changed its name. Not to something more pithy tho'. it's now called Apres la Disparition du Moods (Monaco) ... OUI POUR SA REOUVERTURE. Moods was established in 2008 as a music venue beneath the Cafe de Paris, and for four years it entertained us with local bands, top notch tributes, and world class acts. After it closed, Espace Leo Ferre and Grimaldi Forum's Indigo have kept the live music scene active, but neither of them is as well-suited for gigs as Moods was. SBM remains tight-lipped about the rumoured reopening.
