What's new

We have an update on Jean-Pierre and Alberte Escande's new restaurant in Monaco (see the 14 July newsletter), which is scheduled to open at the end of August on the old Piedra del Sol site. In the kitchen chef Pascal Silman (previously at Maya Bay) will be preparing dishes that appeal to the senses and follow the seasons, hence the restaurant's name, Sensais. His second in command is Dominique Nouvian, who has worked for many years in Monaco at Chaumiere, Rascasse and Monaco Yacht Club. Expected price for a 3-course business lunch is 35 euros, and dishes on the carte will range from 50 to 80 euros.

Finally, Sunday is the last day to visit the summer fair in Port Hercule, heralding the end of the summer holidays and the approach of the "rentree". It's open from 16:00 to midnight, with food stalls, rides and games for kids.

What's in the diary ....

Thursday: Sister Act.
Friday: Stevie Wonder tribute.
Saturday: Ghostbusters.

Coming up next week, Nine Lives, Jason Bourne, and the last of the Mairie's summer concerts.
