What's new

Do you want to exercise more but hate the idea of classes or jogging? Sebastien Chabal may have found the answer. Working with the Principality, the former rugby player has designed a sports station on the Stefano Casiraghi esplanade (above the cruise ship mooring at Port Hercule). It goes by the name of MonaMove and includes ground sensors and equipment that are linked to an app which monitors your performance and suggests exercises. A further station is planned in Fontvieille next year.

Monaco's fleet of 20 electric taxis has been put in the garage for winter. The vehicles have been ferrying passengers around the Principality and its immediate neighbouring towns since they were introduced in July, and have reduced waiting times to an average of less than 5 mins. We should see the cars return to the streets again in mid-April, just in time for the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters.

In other transport news, the Sud Azur Transport Pass was launched this week and will allow travel across the whole PACA French public transport network from 1 Jan 2020. The Monaco bus network will join the scheme in Sep 2020. As yet there's no price information.

And finally, this is our last newsletter of 2019. We'll be continuing to add events to the website over the holidays, and will be sending out our first newsletter of 2020 on 2 January. Thank you for all your support over the years, and we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
