Happy Thanksgiving to all our American readers today. Hope you enjoy your turkey whether at home with family or at Stars n Bars with friends (lunch today, 25 euros pp, reservation required).

Eating out

The Omer restaurant in Hotel de Paris is to be replaced by a chain called Em Sherif, already operating in Dubai, Emirates, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi and Egypt. It's expected to open in spring 2022 and will serve Middle-Eastern style food for lunch and dinner daily.

Metropole Hotel's chef patissier Patrick Mesiano has added waffles to the menu and is preparing them live for customers.

Michel Lang, director of the Louis XV for 29 years is moving on. He's heading to Paris to work at ADMO in the Ombres restaurant.

Covid

A shocking 45 new cases were reported in Monaco on Tuesday, just as we were hoping things were getting better. And not only that, but seven restaurants were closed recently for flouting sanitary measures, particularly with regard to staff wearing masks: Pulcinella, Quai des Artistes, Neptune, Stars n Bars, Before, and Cova. Club 39 on avenue Princess Grace too.

A new facebook group, "stop au port du masque pour nos enfants" has been protesting against schoolchildren wearing masks in Monaco classrooms. Considering the large spike in cases the Government is unlikely to lift the mandate.

And don't forget you'll need your health pass to eat out from Wednesday 1 December.

Community

The Drama Group of Monaco wants to hear from you! Theatre-goers, actors, writers, musicians, technicians and backstage workers, whatever your interest, there's a role for you in this long-standing amateur organisation. Make a note in your diary for 16 December, when the group is staging an adaptation of Dickens's A Christmas Carol in the Theatre des Varietes.

And finally...

Monaco Post is now delivering letters to Father Christmas. Kids can use the service until 24 December, posting pictures and requests in any Monaco post box, including the dedicated one in the Metropole Centre. Include name and address if you want a reply.
