What's new

Since last week's newsletter we've been mostly confined to home, with a curfew in place every night from 22:00 to 5:00. Public parks and walkways by the sea have been closed to deter group socialising, and the number of people testing positive for Covid-19 has risen to 31, one of whom is our own Prince Albert II. At least the supermarkets are managing shoppers now to reduce the numbers in store and waiting at checkouts. Unfortunately someone is still buying more toilet paper than they need. Follow our daily roundup of the news in Monaco on the maBoum website.

It was inevitable but nonetheless disappointing that the Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled to take place in Rotterdam on May 16, has had to be cancelled. We're cheering ourselves up by listening to some past winners and runners-up, and have used this as our diary theme below. There's a link to a different song for each day of the weekend.

And finally, following our food suggestions last week, we've been asked to give a shout out for Club Vivanova's Bradley Mitton, whose Mitton Wines is delivering wine and spirits to those in need. Enjoy!
