What's new

Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends! If you're craving turkey contact Stars n Bars this morning to reserve your table for today's special lunch. They're serving the bird with all the trimmings, followed by apple or pumpkin pie or banana cake, plus a glass of wine, beer or soda. Price 24 euros, from 11:00 to 15:00, phone +377 97 97 95 95.

We're approaching the end of European Week for Waste Reduction, but there are still some ways you can get involved. If you have any new or nearly new French books for children of all ages, take them along to Condamine Market this morning, 9:00-13:00. They'll be distributed to disadvantaged kids, including those who lost everything in the recent Storm Alex floods.

You could also join the Eco-Angels on Saturday to help collect cigarette butts discarded around Port Hercule. Register here: weezevent - ramassage des megots, and meet in front of Stars n Bars at 15:15.

Now we've finished celebrating Monaco National Day, preparations for Christmas are in full swing. The festive lights have been turned on and Monte Carlo SBM has published its holiday menus. Father Christmas is ready and waiting for La Poste Monaco to deliver children's letters to him and will reply if they include their name and address. Unfortunately the Christmas Kermesse won't take place this year, and a posting on St Paul's facebook page tells us that the traditional 9 lessons and carols will be replaced with a celebratory service on 19th December, but you'll have to reserve a place. Midnight Mass is also cancelled. For more information contact parishassistantmonaco[at]gmail.com.

And finally...

President Macron announced on Tuesday that the French lockdown will continue until 15 December. As of writing our November curfew has managed to slow the spread of Covid in the Principality and is scheduled to end on Monday. However the virus is still with us and is likely to remain a threat until at least the middle of next year. Take care and stay safe.
