What's new

Ahoy there me shivering mateys! The Monaco Yacht Show started yesterday and continues until Saturday afternoon. There are lots of private parties, several public events such as the Club Vivanova lunches and cocktails, and boat themed clubbing every day at Nikki Beach on the rooftop of Fairmont Monte Carlo.

Besides marking the Yacht Show, the Fairmont is celebrating breaking the 50,000 fans barrier on its facebook page. Over the next 50 days it's offering 5 deals as a thank you: a free plate of tapas during Nobu happy hour, 50 euros off spa treatments and fitness membership, 50% off a special facebook menu and 50% off stays on specific dates. Each offer has specific terms and conditions, so to find out more you'll need to visit the hotel's facebook page at: Fairmont Monte Carlo on facebook.

Monte Carlo SBM's Trattoria restaurant has joined the list of places donating money to the Italian Red Cross for earthquake relief (see 15 Sep newsletter). For every dish of pasta all'amatriciana sold, 2 euros will be donated, but hurry, because the initiative ends on Saturday.

Finally, Oliban is holding a Soirée Orientale tomorrow evening. From 8.30pm the restaurant has live music and an "oriental" dancer. Phone +377 93 50 00 00 for reservations.

What's in the diary ....
