What's new

We're looking forward to a long weekend that starts tomorrow on 1st May. If the weather's fine, we might go for a swim at the outdoor seawater pool, which opens on Labour Day for the summer season.

Another sporting activity we're looking forward to is the Monte Carlo Polo Cup, now in its 3rd year. The international competition takes place in July and organizers have now found a dedicated venue, which will be inaugurated during the event.

And finally, if you're looking for something special for Sunday lunch, Club Vivanova is organizing an informal gathering at Nobu this weekend, with unlimited champagne. Hosted by the Club's founder, Bradley Mitton, it's a great opportunity to taste the upmarket Japanese chain's food and do a bit of networking. Numbers are limited.

What's in the diary ....

Thursday: Outdoor jazz concert.
Friday: Vivanova pink wine tasting.
Saturday: Poker for Pink.
Sunday: Richard Strauss concert and football.

Coming up next week, Ireland's greater war and TV festival networking.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
(1) This week's quote is a song from The Merry Widow, the most famous operetta by Austro-Hungarian composer Franz Lehar, born this day 1870. The loose English translation of the song is "Who can tell what the hell women are?"
