What's new

Riccardo Giraudi's newest restaurant is now open on rue Portier. Cozza is the fishy sibling of Monaco Restaurant Group's Mozza. It has an open kitchen and a large counter display of fresh fish and seafood. There's a choice of cicchetti (small plates) to start, such as grilled octopus, ceviche, and oysters. Mains include pasta stuffed with cuttlefish, mussels gratinee, and grilled fish. It's open daily for lunch (formule from 29 euros) and dinner. Phone +377 97 77 09 79 to reserve, and check out the photos on Cozza's facebook page. Let us know what you think if you get there before us.

Monaco's port across the border in Ventimiglia is on schedule to officially open in July. The Cala del Forte has space for 178 vessels of up to 70 metres, and includes retail outlets and green spaces. Yacht owners who use the Italian-based moorings will be able to take advantage of a fast shuttle boat that will reach Monaco in about 10 mins.

And finally, the Surete is warning residents to be on the alert for a new telephone scam. A caller claiming to be from the tax or police services is demanding money by bank transfer. If you think you've been targeted, phone the Surete asap on 93 15 30 15.
