What's new

Ever since the publication of the Bib Gourmand (see 25 Jan newsletter), we've been dreaming of delicious dinners. Tomorrow the Michelin Guide Rouge will be in the shops, bringing with it a selection of fabulous restaurants to try. The 2018 guide contains no changes for Monaco, but up the hill in La Turbie the Hostellerie Jerome has gained an extra star, as has Flaveur in Nice.

Elsewhere in the Principality, Song Qi is celebrating Chinese New Year from 8 to 18 February with special dishes created for the occasion, whilst Stars n Bars has launched Meatless Mondays. The global campaign aims to get people to eat less meat, which is good for your health and for the planet. Burgers will still be on the menu, but once a week the American diner offers a hearty, meat-free dish of the day.

The Metropole Hotel is organising a recruitment day on Tuesday 13 February, from 9:30 to 17:00. Management is looking for seasonal workers to join the team, and interested applicants should take along a CV.

And finally, it's election day for Monegasques on Sunday and voters will be choosing their Conseil National candidates at Espace Leo Ferre from 8:00 to 19:00. As foreign residents we can only observe.

What's in the diary ....

Thursday: Beer before home.
Friday: Classical concert in the library.
Saturday: England v Wales.
Sunday: Wellness through movement.

Coming up next week, a photographic stroll, lunch for Kenyan Kids, and Love Gin tasting.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
