What's new

Crowds cheered and waved flags at Palace Square yesterday morning during the official presentation of Gabriella and Jacques. Happy parents Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene appeared in a second floor window, each holding a twin, and later walked amongst well-wishers, shaking hands and thanking them.

Dionysos Wines has opened a cave on the pedestrian rue Princesse Caroline. In addition to selling bottles, the boutique has a private room that can be booked for tasting events. Just around the corner and above Condamine market hall, Lebanese chain restaurant Oliban opened in December. It's already had a visit from Prince Albert II, and is planning a Lebanese evening later this month.

Changes came into operation on Monaco bus routes 4 and 5 at the beginning of this week. Modifications have been necessary because of the amount of building and construction work that's taking place across the Principality. Traffic flow and consumer preferences are to be monitored before any future decision is taken about re-routing the buses.

As sure as night follows day, sales follow New Year. Bargain hunters hit the streets in France yesterday, whereas Monaco shops have been offering discounts since 2nd January and continue to do so until 15th February. Mrs maBoum has her eye on a rather smart little Longchamp handbag.

Finally, Monte Carlo SBM has already announced some of the acts that are performing in Monaco in summer 2015. Pharrell Williams, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, Lenny Kravitz, and Santana take to the Salle des Etoiles stage in 6 months.
