What's new

The aroma of grilled meat wafting in the air, hands sticky with ice-cream and the roar of Italian engines on narrow streets. It can only mean one thing. Summer has started and the tourists have arrived in Monaco.

During July and August Meridien Beach Plaza is organizing a BBQ every Thursday (75 euros), a fish and seafood buffet every Friday (105 euros), and dancing on the beach with buffet on 30 July, 6 and 13 August (120 euros). Drinks are not included.

Monte Carlo Bay's chef Marcel Ravin is adding a Brazilian twist to his Michelin-starred cuisine from 7 July to 25 August on the terrace of the Las Brisas summer restaurant. Or at Monte Carlo Beach, you can indulge in 100% organic buffet at the Deck restaurant by the pool on the evenings of 8 and 29 July, and 12 and 28 August. The price of 100 euros includes one glass of champagne.

Ice-cream lovers will be pleased to hear that Morelli's kiosk has returned to the Cafe de Paris, with fresh gelato prepared daily until 30 September. New on the summer treat scene is Pierre Marcolini, who has partnered with Monte Carlo SBM to open a pop-up ice-cream van on the allee Francois Blanc. Buy your favourite flavour ice-cream lolly dipped in your choice of chocolate coating, daily until 18 September.

Finally, Maserati has taken over the Hotel de Paris's 3rd floor suite 321-322 until 30 September. The Dom Perignon themed rooms (see 24 March newsletter) have been re-designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, and are now available for 3500 euros per night for two adults. The package includes Nice airport transfers in a Maserati, use of a Maserati GranCabrio whilst in the Principality, breakfast and a champagne cocktail with food inspired by the Italian motor-city, Modena.
