Discover heritage sites on the outskirts of Monaco
On 20th and 21st September, Beausoleil takes part in the Journees Europeennes du Patrimoine, when sites normally closed to the public are opened up. Monaco marks the days a month later.
Here's our overview of what's open. There are also a number of guided tours for those who understand French.
Musee du Foyer du Poilu
Located at 9 Avenue du Marechal Foch, the museum commemorates WW1 and WW2.

Riviera Palace and winter garden
Belle Epoque hotel, located at 27 Boulevard de la Turbie, with a winter garden, the dome of which was designed by Gustave Eiffel.

Mont des Mules
A pedestrian path with panoramic views and remains of an Iron Age settlement, located at Boulevard des Combattants d'Afrique du Nord.
Guided visits
French language guided visits are planned on foot and by minibus. Entry to places of interest is free, but reservation is obligatory with the Office de Tourisme on +33 4 93 78 01 55. Tours depart from the Office de Tourisme and participants are requested to arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Two Beausoleil discovery walking tours departs 9:30 and 13:30, duration 2 hours, include the town centre and Moneghetti district, visit to the winter gardens of Riviera Palace, ending with a choice of either the Foyer du Poilu or the Sanctuaire Saint Joseph.
A walk on Mont des Mules, departing 15:30 from the town centre in a minibus, duration 1h30. Includes a stroll on the footpath, taking in the remains of an Iron Age settlement, ending at 291m above sea level. The path forms part of the cross-border Roman route Via Julia Augusta.- medium level of difficulty

A combined tour of 2h of Riviera Palace and Mont des Mules, departing at 10:00 in a minibus. Starting with the Riviera Palace's winter gardens, followed by a walking tour on Mont des Mules, taking in the Iron Age settlement.
A minibus tour departing 14:00, duration 3h30, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the start of WW1, including places linked to the conflict: Chapelle du Souvenir in the Sanctuaire Saint Joseph, military vaults and monument to Italian soldiers in the cemetery, Riviera Palace terrace military hospital, Town Hall monument to the dead and Foyer du Poilu museum. Organized by the municipal archives service.
