Since refurbishment in 2012, the market hall at Place d'Armes has seen an increase in visitor numbers, especially at lunchtime, when office workers and busy shoppers can enjoy a quick, tasty mid-day meal.
The Conseil Communal has received requests from traders and customers to extend the same service in the evenings, so that a new set of customers, especially families, can take advantage of the upgraded community market to enjoy drinks and snacks together.
Newly christened as the Halle Gourmande, the hall provides a convivial space in which bon viveurs can enjoy good quality, diverse food at reasonable prices.
From 18th March you can try it out for after work aperos and socializing, and pre-party tapas style snacking. Highlights include mochitos, rice flour gnocchi in pesto sauce, Serrano ham, cheeses, pizzas, socca, and mini chocolate eclairs.
