2nd edition of the regional competition for hotels

The 2nd Raid Inter-Hotels of the Cote d'Azur and Monaco (RIHCA) takes place on 7th October, with Monaco's hotel workers participating.

Nice's Hotel Splendid hosted the launch party in April, for the event that is once again organized by Team Nature. Teams compete against each other in activities that require physical and mental skills. In 2011, 36 Cote d'Azur hotels in the 4 and 5 star category took part, with first place won by Novotel Monte Carlo, and second place taken by Meridien Beach Plaza.

This year's competition involves 5 activities:

• orientation race to retrieve 5 "stars"
• puzzles related to each star found
• tandem kayaking, involving 4 kayaks hooked up to each other
• race on foot
• climbing the fort on Ile Sainte Marguerite

The event is sponsored by Monaco's Direction du Tourisme et des Congres, and Monte Carlo SBM, along with several other regional enterprises.

UPDATE 17 Oct 2012. The top three positions in the 2012 competition were taken by:

• 1. Pierre et Vacances Mandelieu
• 2. Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo
• 3. Vista Palace Roqeubrune
