Voting now open for 12th edition of Golden Foot Award

UPDATE: the closing date for public voting has been extended to midnight, 31st August.

Who do you think is the best footballer of the year? Cast your vote for the Golden Foot Award that takes place in Monaco in October.

The 2014 Golden Foot Award is presented during Sportel Monaco, the annual sports media and content forum held at Grimaldi Forum. Ten outstanding soccer players have been nominated, based on voting for an initial list chosen by a jury of media partners and event promoters. Now it's up to the public to decide who will take away the trophy. This year's nominees are:

• Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugese forward
• Marta Da Silva, female Brazilian forward
• Thierry Henry, French striker
• Andres Iniesta, Spanish midfielder
• Manuel Neuer, German goalkeeper
• Andrea Pirlo, Italian playmaker
• Franck Ribery, French midfielder
• Wayne Rooney, English forward
• Thiago Silva, Brazilian defender
• Yaya Toure, Ivorian midfielder

You have until until 24th August to choose your favourite footballer, who's then invited to leave a permanent bronze imprint of his or her feet on the Champions Promenade in Monaco.
