UEFA Super Cup tickets sold out

Atletico Madrid versus Inter Milan on Friday.

The UEFA Super Cup match on Friday night promises some exciting action, but if you were hoping to pick up a couple of tickets at the last minute, you'll be disappointed. Apparently the game is sold out, and even Monaco FC season ticket holders, who were able to buy seats for the 2009 final between Barcelona and Shakhtar Donetsk, have been unlucky this year.

The annual soccer competition takes place at Monaco's Stade Louis II, with a capacity of 18,500. Tickets for big competitions are allocated by the organizers, in this case UEFA, which set aside 7000 places for special invitations and sponsors before releasing 5000 tickets to each of the two clubs, Madrid and Milan. That left just 1500 tickets, which were all sold at the beginning of July.

If you'd like to see the game, there'll be plenty of bars around Monaco showing it on television. Brasserie de Monaco is making a night out of it, and the Priory pub in Beausoleil too.

Don't forget that during the afternoon of the match, the sale of alcoholic drinks is prohibited in Fontvieille, Condamine, and Port Hercule. Restrictions apply to all shops in those districts from 14:30 to 20:45.
