For the very young (1)

School holidays start on Monday so we'll be on the lookout for activities and entertainment to keep your little darlings occupied.

What's new?

Before Bar has extended its opening hours to include Sunday, when you can chill out in the evening from 18:00. During the week, Ni Tapas has added a 1st floor outdoor terrace for you to enjoy its lunchtime specials (9 euros or 15 euros) in the sun.

Changes are afoot for Monaco's music bar, Moods. The club closes for summer at the end of April and is to open with a new concept in Autumn. We've heard it hasn't quite hit the mark for clientele, with a packed house at weekends but relatively empty club during the week. Here at maBoum we were excited when Moods first opened, being partial to live music entertainment, and with visions of Monaco's own Ronnie Scotts type jazz club. However it didn't match our expectations and we'll be interested to see what changes SBM makes. What do you think?

What's in the diary...

Thursday: Combining music and art require stamina.
Friday: Grand and smashing night for tennis fans.
Saturday: Women play on the beach.
Sunday: Men compete for Top Marques.

Coming up next week, Wima, Tyrone Guthrie, and a student orchestra.

Featured place

We're stepping over the border this week to visit Savannah pub in Beausoleil. Managed by a genial host who speaks excellent English, we've noticed that the bar has been slowly spruced up over the past couple of years. It won't be to everyone's taste, as clients fall into the local-labour category rather than the luxury-lovers primarily found in Monaco. However, the lager beer is well-kept, it stays open after 8pm, and serves a slice of colourful multi-cultural life.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
