What's new

Monaco Mediatheque's music and film library has moved to its new address at 2 rue Princesse Antoinette, just round the corner from the Louis Notari Library. It holds 18,500 CDs and 10,500 DVDs, and has a study space as well as multimedia stations. Don't get too comfortable tho'. If everything goes to plan all library services will relocate to one building on the Ilot Pasteur site below Jardin Exotique in 2024.

Two auctions are in the news this week. First, a chance to pick up a bargain when the Administration des Domaines sells off decommissioned administrative vehicles as well as those abandoned on the Principality's roads. Starting bids are as low as 15 euros for 2-wheelers and 30 euros for 4-wheelers. You'll find the list of vehicles, how to bid, and general conditions here: Gouvernement Princier - communiqué - vente aux enchères administrative de véhicules - mars 2021. Bids must be received before midday 19 March.

The second auction concerns Karl Lagerfeld's art collection. Sotheby's is in the process of making an inventory and the sale is expected to take place in Monaco in autumn.

Sportel was cancelled for obvious reasons last year and has been re-scheduled for October 2021. Organizers of the event have developed an eTalks platform featuring online panel discussions. There are two sessions this afternoon, free to attend on Zoom from 14:00.

In brief

The Bal de la Rose has been cancelled and scheduled for 19 Mar 2022.

The Gazette de Monaco reports 227 voluntary redundancies at SBM.

The Alpes-Maritimes will be locked down for a 3rd time this weekend. Hospitals are struggling to cope with Covid cases.

And finally...

Riccardo Giraudi's Monaco Restaurant Group (MRG) has launched a Lebanese food service. Mezze Kitchen delivers lunch and dinner, hot and cold dishes, and you can place your orders online or phone +377 93 10 42 48. Enjoy!
