It's the Historic Grand Prix this weekend, with practice sessions tomorrow, qualifiers on Saturday and races on Sunday. If you need to get about town, be aware that the course will be closed to traffic on Friday 9:30-20:30, Saturday 6:15-19:30, and Sunday 6:00-19:30. You should also note that French taxi drivers are planning to disrupt the event in protest at not being able to pick up fares in the Principality.

If you love shoes you no doubt know that the Grimaldi Forum summer exhibition is promoting Christian Louboutin's wares from 9 July to 28 August. Early bird tickets are now on sale for 6 euros (instead of 11) on the Monte Carlo Ticket website.

Yet another photography competition is under way, free to enter and open to all. Organized by Ramoge, with the theme Man and the Sea, entries can be submitted up to the end of September. Check out the rules on the Accord Ramoge website.

Tickets are still available for the Iggy Pop concert in the Grimaldi Forum next week.

And finally...

If you want to escape the mayhem this weekend, how about a visit to the Ikea store in Nice-Saint-Isidore, which is now open. Enjoy!
