What's new
Welcome to a rather short newsletter this week. We're currently traveling, enjoying some prize-winning beer at the Great British Beer Festival, and taking a break from the heat of summer.
Monaco FC had a great start to the season last weekend with a away win against Nice 1-2. Tomorrow Lille visits the Principality for the Reds and Whites's first home game. The club has been drawn against Valence in the play-off round of the UEFA Champions League, with a visit to Spain on 19 August, and the second leg at Stade Louis II on 25 August.
At the time of writing, Venturi plans to go ahead with its world speed record attempt from 17 to 21 August in Bonneville Salt Flats, despite the USA-based Speed Week event being canceled earlier in August. The Monaco electric vehicle manufacturer hopes its VBB-3 car, christened Jamais Contente, will reach speeds of 600 kph. It's fingers-crossed for the team, which abandoned attempts in 2013 and 2014 due to storms and heavy rains.
