What's new

Two of Monaco's sports teams are in the news this week. First, AS Monaco football club has drawn an away match against Olympique Lyonnais for the quarter finals of the Coupe de France, to be played on 21 April at 21:10.

Second, Monaco Roca is celebrating becoming eligible to join the EuroLeague next season. Before then the basketball team will be playing in the finals of the EuroCup but as yet don't know who their opponents are. The matches take place 27 and 30 April, and if necessary 5 May.

In disappointing news the under-12s annual rugby Tournoi de Sainte Devote has been cancelled this year.

In Brief

Kids are getting an extra three days off from 17 to 19 May.

Top Marques has been pushed back again and is now scheduled for June 2022.

The Observateur de Monaco reports that shuttle boats between Nice and Cap d'Ail should be up and running from August this year.

The paper also notes that refurbishment of the Metropole Hotel is expected to be finished for the 2023 Grand Prix.

And finally...

A new online listing of restaurants on the Rock has been published, called Dine on the Rock, aiming to give a boost to restaurateurs who have seen takings drop due to Covid. Enjoy!
