What's new

Stars n Bars has opened a new restaurant in Courchevel's Aquamotion water park. The business includes a main restaurant area and a smaller grill that overlooks the indoor surf wave.

Fairmont Monte Carlo has opened an in-hotel boutique selling Christmas themed chocolates and sweets created by pastry chef Stephane Delvert. Treat yourself to a Father Christmas shaped chocolate lolly (5 euros), a dark chocolate mendiant Christmas tree (30 or 50 euros) or an edible Russian doll (55 euros). You can also buy traditional yule logs and festive desserts, but only until 8 January.

And finally, school holidays begin after end of classes on Friday. Kids return to their desks on Tuesday 3 January, as Monday 2 January is the official public holiday for New Year's Day.
