What's new

Monte Carlo Rolex Masters started last week, but all the excitement takes place this weekend. Tomorrow sees the tennis competition quarter finals, followed in the evening by the Grande Nuit du Tennis gala and clubbing with Bob Sinclar. Semi-finalists battle it out on Saturday and the finals take place on Sunday.

Supercar show Top Marques starts its 4-day residence at the Grimaldi Forum today. This year the fantastic AeroMobil flying car is being exhibited, along with the usual luxury vehicles and watches.

Now the weather is warming up, we're seeing more restaurants shaking out the tablecloths and opening up for the season. This week Fairmont Monte Carlo's rooftop Horizon started serving breakfasts, lunches, dinners and a view towards Italy. On Sunday, Monte Carlo Beach's Le Deck poolside restaurant opens and is offering food and leisure packages up to July. Make a day of it with free access to the Beach Club, including a lounger and brunch for 130 euros, or with water sports and lunch (excl. drinks) for 170 euros.

In other restaurant news, Stars n Bars is now promoting its weekly BBQ night. The grill heats up every Thursday for a 16 euros mixed platter of burgers, chicken, potato salad, coleslaw and more. For something more refined, Monaco Restaurant Group's Song Qi now features a DJ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. If dinner with DJ isn't your cup of tea, you can order the upmarket Chinese restaurant's dishes for home delivery instead. For more information contact Mr Room Service on +377 99 99 33 33.

And finally, commiserations to Monaco FC for its 1-0 loss to Juventus on Tuesday. Let's hope the Reds and Whites do better when they face the Italian team on home turf next Wednesday.

What's in the diary ....

Thursday: Russian networking, tango concert.
Friday: Charity bazaar.
Saturday: Football.
Sunday: Romeo and Juliet ballet.

Coming up next week, Irish emigration talk, picnic with Puccini and Comedy Club returns.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
