It's time to fly the flags and play the national anthem. Tomorrow is the Fete Nationale and a day off. No fireworks tonight tho', instead a musical drone display at 20:00.

Next week preparations for Christmas begin with the offical turning on of the festive street lights on Monday evening.

Health & covid

Use of the health pass in Monaco is to be prolonged until 25 February 2022. You'll need it to enter restaurants and bars from 1 December. Due to the rise in the number of cases recently, venues such as the Opera, Princess Grace Theatre, and Grimaldi Forum, are reducing the numbers of tickets for events.

Following Netherlands' imposition of a partial lockdown, and Austria's decision to limit the movements of unvaccinated citizens, other European governments are considering options for mitigating a winter wave of Covid. For the moment France is pushing the 3rd vaccine booster shot, as is Monaco.

Environment

COP26 in Glasgow has ended with a "fragile" success. Back in Monaco it's European Week for Waste Reduction from 20 to 28 November, with lots of awareness-raising activities for individuals.

On Tuesday Nice Matin published the results of a survey of walking habits in Monaco, reporting that 80.6% of those taking part say they walk to stay healthy. There were plenty of grumbles tho', such as bikes and trottinettes on pavements, and event structures continually blocking access to Port Hercule. Suggestions for improving life for pedestrians include widening pavements and restricting traffic.

And finally...

Ticket prices for the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix (26-29 May) have been released and are selling fast.
