What's new

Good news for 45-54 year-olds, who should now have received their Covid vaccine invitations. It was announced last Thursday along with a loosening of restrictions in the Principality. Curfew is put back an hour to 21:00, and restaurants can offer evening service to residents only, with a dispensation for diners to be home by 22:00. Measures will be reviewed every two weeks in a "stop and go" strategy.

Good news too for fans of the Historic Grand Prix which is going ahead this weekend. Friday's practice sessions is closed to spectators, but there are 6500 free tickets available on Saturday and Sunday for residents, workers and hotel guests. Restaurants can exceptionally serve throughout the day from 11:00 to 21:30. If successful the Automobile Club is likely to repeat the exercise for the ePrix. No decision has been made for the F1 tho', and Monaco Hebdo reports the FIA has banned autograph signings, selfies, pit lane walks, and paddock guests.

Hauser and Wirth is opening a gallery in Monaco. The Zurich company's inaugural exhibition will be 19 Jun to 25 Sep, featuring work by Louise Bourgeois, including a sculpture of a 3m high spider in the Jardins des Boulingrins.

In Brief

Congratulations to Stefanos Tsitsipas who beat Andrey Rublev in the finals of the Monte Carlo Rolex Tennis Masters on Sunday.

If you've got 105 million euros to spare the Lady Moura motor yacht, currently moored up in Monaco, is for sale.

The Prince's Car Collection (currently closed) has taken delivery of Charles Leclerc's Ferrari SF90 from his first victory in Spa Francorchamps in 2019. There's an interview with Director Valerie Closier in the Gazette de Monaco.

And finally...

The Metropole Hotel welcomed diners this week to its 1-star Yoshi Japanese restaurant. If sushi isn't your thing, the lobby bar is open for lunch and dinner too, subject to Covid restrictions. Enjoy!
