To begin at the beginning (1)

Apparently we've been experiencing the warmest October since records began in 1950. You'd better keep your woolies at hand tho', as Meteo-France forecasts an end to the Indian summer weather next week.

Next Tuesday is a public holiday for All Saints, and Monday is Halloween, so workers are likely to "font le pont". If you're taking advantage of the extra day off and travelling about by public transport, note that the old bus route 100 has now been split into two. Zou bus 607 (pdf timetable) runs between Nice and Monaco-St-Roman, and bus 608 (pdf timetable) between Monaco and Menton.

An exhibition of 11 photos of the French and Italian Riverias is on at the railway station until 18 November. The black and white images have been taken by Gilles Cappadoro, whose work hangs in the suites of the Maybourne Riviera.

And finally...

Don't forget the clocks change this weekend. We'll gain an extra hour on Sunday morning. Enjoy!

What's in the diary...

Thursday: Fun fair.
Friday: Concert tribute to Diaghilev.
Saturday: eRally last day.
Sunday: Football.
