What's new

Happy New Year! We hope you enjoyed your holidays. Many of you will still be traveling and so this week's newsletter is a short one.

While we were enjoying the last day of the break, the Monaco Government introduced a new law banning the use of plastic straws and drink stirrers in the Principality. The aim is to reduce pollution caused by plastics and follows the 2016 ban on single use plastic bags in shops. Furthermore, over the coming year the Direction de l'Environnement is helping takeaway restaurants to reduce their use of plastic cutlery and packaging in preparation for 1 January 2020, when a ban on single use plastic plates, cups, glasses, cutlery and cotton buds will come into force.

And finally, if the partying and celebrating have left you exhausted, check out our guide to 2019 holidays and days off in Monaco. It's only three and a half weeks to the next one!
