What's new

On 3 September 1944 the people of Monaco awoke to find themselves free. During the night there had been a violent storm, the peals of thunder alternating with volleys of mortar shots fired from war ships off the coast. The second World War had finally ended for the Principality and seventy-six years later we're celebrating again.

Monaco Safe accreditation has now been obtained by several municipal services including Condamine Market, Mediatheque de Monaco, and the Temps de Vivre Club. The label is awarded to public-facing establishments which have enforced government measures aiming to counteract the spread of Covid-19. You can check which businesses have been awarded the safety mark here: Label Monaco Safe liste des labellises, and the conditions for awarding it here: Label Monaco Safe obtenir le label.

Meanwhile, Metropole Hotel's swanky French restaurant has decided to drop Joel Robuchon's name from its branding. There are no changes in the kitchen of the 2-star establishment which is still featured on Le Monde de Joel Robuchon website alongside its sibling Yoshi. Robuchon died in 2018 and was famous for his mashed potatoes.

And finally, Rampoldi has extended its dining services by opening a gourmet table d'hote. The restaurant within a restaurant is named for its chef, Antonio Salvatore, who, rumour has it, is aiming for a Michelin star. There are only 15 covers in what used to be the cigar room, where the Cigar Club still has its wooden lockers. You can choose dishes a la carte, or try one of two tasting menus, 6 courses for 110 euros, or 8 courses for 180. Add an extra 70 euros for wine-pairing. Phone +377 93 30 70 65 to reserve a table. We might see you there. Enjoy!
