Only art promised immortality (1)

What's new

"Monaco to introduce income tax!" "Cars banned from the streets of the Principality!" Don't believe everything you read in the news tomorrow, when there are sure to be plenty of silly stories reported as April fools (poisson d'avril). Don't forget that the school holidays start tomorrow too.

April sees the beginning of the cruise ship season and with it an influx of tourists. There are regular moorings at Port Hercule starting Monday and continuing throughout summer and autumn. We can also look forward to the Historic and the F1 Grands Prix for which preparations are under way. Before that it's the Tennis Masters in a couple of weeks and this weekend the Printemps des Arts music festival continues with concerts tonight, tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.

And finally, if you've been missing the Saint Benoit that closed last year (see the 10 Dec 2015 newsletter), the restaurant's website promises that it will reopen at the end of May.

What's in the diary ....

Coming up next week, astrology, EVER Monaco and luxury brands.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
(1) This week's quote is from founder of the Ballets Russes, Sergei Diaghilev, born this day 1872. The full quote reads, "of all the wonders that the world had to offer, only art promised immortality."
