The third Doctor. (1)

Phew! What a scorcher! Hope you're managing to keep cool.

Many of the traditional summer activities have returned to Monaco this year following a hiatus due to Covid. The fireworks competition isn't one of them, but the Mairie is providing a display followed by entertainment on 30 July and 13 August in Port Hercule.

Also at the Port several activities are being organized for youngsters from 14 July to 21 August. These include a carousel, bouncy castle, crazy karting and two basketball pitches. There's a shaded corner and refreshment booth available too for breaks.

In more downbeat news, the Government is advising people to remain vigilant in the face of rising Covid cases. If you're aged +60 or at high risk book a 4th vaccine shot (phone +377 92 05 55 00). Masks are recommended when using public transport and in busy areas, and we're encouraged to regularly wash our hands and avoid touching our faces too. In addition we should avoid greeting others with a hand shake or hug, and cover our nose and mouth if we cough or sneeze. All sensible precautions.

And finally...

French railway workers are rumoured to be considering strike action over summer. So stay put and enjoy Monaco!
