What's new

Monaco FC is through to the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France after defeating Metz in a penalty shoot-out on Tuesday evening. The draw for the matches will be broadcast live tomorrow on France 3 and the games will be played on 20 and 21 April.

There's more football this weekend, as well as the start of the Tennis Masters. Unfortunately none of the games are open to spectators but you can watch the soccer on Canal+Sport, and the tennis on Eurosport (there's a television information page on the tennis website).

Current Covid measures are to remain in place until at least 18 April, however the curfew has been shortened and now starts at 20:00. The extra hour means we can take advantage of the lighter evenings.

School holidays have been rescheduled, much to the annoyance of parents. Kids will be at home for two weeks from tomorrow evening, returning to the classroom 26 April. The Government justified the change in the face of the French lockdown. A large number of teaching and administrative staff travel into Monaco, and it's felt that bringing the holidays forward will give both staff and pupils some breathing space. Free activities and day centres for kids are available.

And finally...

We hope you haven't packed away your winter clothing yet. Yesterday saw a drop in temperature and snow in the mountains, typical April weather. Enjoy!
