We're going through! (1)

Today is the feast day of the Immaculate Conception, which is a public holiday here in Monaco.

At time of writing the forecast is for rain this afternoon, so if you're planning on using your day off for a walk you'd best go out this morning. Why not investigate the annual Chemin des Creches, with 14 nativity scenes from around the world? It's set up along the Rampe Major up to the Rocher and Place du Palais. If the weather's inclement no worries, as the exhibition continues until 8 January.

Tomorrow the Bal de Noel returns with an Italia Chic theme. It takes place at the Hermitage Hotel from 8.30pm and includes an auction to raise funds for the Fondation Princesse Charlene. If you're interested phone +377 97 70 78 75 or email events[at]5starsevents.com.

Looking ahead to next Wednesday, Club Vivanova is organizing a Christmas lunch at Maya Jah, with champagne, wine and a special menu.

And finally...

Limone's ski slopes open today, accessible by train from Ventimiglia or Nice through Breil sur Roya. Enjoy!

What's in the diary...

Thursday: Christmas market.
Friday: Lakme.
Saturday: Messiah.
Sunday: Christmas run.
