What's new

The Fairmont Monte Carlo has opened a new suite dedicated to Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna. It's one of several Grand Prix suites that are named after F1 stars, including Jean Alesi, David Coulthard and Sir Stirling Moss. The interior includes photos from the private collection of Senna's mother, as well as books about the driver and items related to him. It also has a view of the Fairmont hairpin bend and the Louis II tunnel.

Meridien Beach Plaza is reinstalling its Amber Summer terrace from today until 30 September. The lounge is open daily from 17:00 for after beach drinks, it transforms into an after party venue from midnight, and a breakfast lounge 5:00-7:00.

Following its reopening (see 13 May newsletter) The Grill is working to reassert its position as one of the top restaurants in Monaco. Located on the 8th floor of the Hotel de Paris, it's open daily for breakfast 7:30-10:30, lunch from 12:30 (set menu 55 euros), and dinner 19:30-22:30 (set menu 135 euros).

Finally, we're thinking about our friends in Britain who have been affected by the recent events in Manchester and London and who are voting today. Whatever the outcome of the election, members and friends of the British Association of Monaco are welcome to celebrate or commiserate at Queen Elizabeth's birthday cocktail next week.
