What's new

Next Tuesday many of Monaco's restaurants will be wooing romantic couples with special Valentine's Day menus. At the Hotel de Paris's Salle Empire, the price is from 170 euros up and includes a chance to win a piece of jewellery and a dinner for two at the Louis XV. Alain Ducasse's restaurant will be serving its usual fare on 14 February, including chef Dominique Lory's new "Diners d'Hiver" set menu, available until 20 March.

We have more information about L'Ete restaurant-bar-cabaret at the port (see 19 January newsletter). Emmanuel Deu is in charge of the kitchen, an experienced chef who has spent much of his career working in Ukraine, and most recently at La Moutarde in Vilnius, Lithuania. His dishes fuse Mediterranean and Asian flavours. The interior decor has a pink and black theme that reflects lingerie designer Chantal Thomass's input. Director Gerard Sukiasyan describes the venue as trendy, glamorous, chic and original. Let us know what you think if you get there before us.
