Changes to French professional soccer rules
Changes announced this week by the Conseil d'Administration of the Ligue Francaise de Football Professionnel could have grave consequences for AS Monaco FC.
The French sports organization has decided to modify its rules by obliging all clubs that play in the French championship to have a head office in France. Teams must comply by 1st June 2014.
AS Monaco FC has played in the French championship since 1933, contributing to the success of the sport in many ways. Indeed, several members of the French national football team were trained in and played for Monaco.
It's not yet clear if or how the rules will be applied to the Principality, but the Government has assured the club of its support.
