Printemps des Arts 2012

28th edition of annual Spring Arts Festival

From 16th March to 8th April. This year focusing on the accordion, the tambourine, and Anton Bruckner. Bruckner was born in 1824 in Austria, where his theologically inspired music was initially poorly received by critics and Viennese audiences. Today his work has become a staple of the symphony concert repertoire, reflected in the Printemps des Arts' invitation to hear 4 great European orchestras perform 5 Bruckner symphonies.
Our overview of the festival program over 4 weekends is below. A pass for the whole festival costs 250 euros, or click through for venues, times and individual event prices:
16-18 March, devoted to the accordion. During this first weekend of the festival, accordionists Aude Giuliano and Sebastien Innocenti will be performing in the streets around the Principality.
23-25 March, discover the tambourine and works from the Middle Ages.
30 March-1 April, devoted to the piano and the first part of the festival's Bruckner cycle.
4-7 April, remainder of festival Bruckner cycle, closing concert and party.
