Hotel de Paris and Metropole gain a 5th star.

Monaco's hotel rating system has finally offered an extra star to its top class establishments, bringing it into line with international rankings. After the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel gained its French star last December, it's now the turn of the Hotel de Paris and the Metropole Hotel to celebrate. The old 4 star luxury rating is now defunct, leaving the Fairmont, Hermitage, Port Palace, Meridien Beach Plaza and Monte Carlo Bay each with 4 stars. No change to Monaco's 3 star and 2 star establishments.
