What's new

It was World Happiness Day on Tuesday and we discovered that Finland is now the happiest country in the world. With so much alarming news in the media at the moment I could do with a dose of happiness.

Apparently the French are no longer eating jambon-beurre baguettes, preferring to sink their teeth into non-traditional burgers. And France's bird populations are in decline, probably due to increased use of pesticides in agriculture. I haven't heard any blackbirds in Monaco for a few years, but I blame that on the noisy construction projects.

Worst of all is the news that scammers are attempting to extract cash from unwary businesses by impersonating Prince Albert II. I can't imagine any circumstance in which I would receive a message from the Palace via WhatsApp, especially since I don't have WhatsApp on my phone, But seriously, if you suspect you're being scammed by a fake prince, call the Surete Publique on +377 93 15 30 15, or email pcto[at]gouv.mc.

And finally, don't forget the clocks change this weekend. We lose a little sleep as the hour moves forward, but we gain the lighter evenings. Enjoy!
