Oh, Mr Porter! (1)

What's new

Every year during Advent, the Direction des Affaires Culturelles de Monaco organizes two free concerts of Baroque music. This year we were lucky enough to get a seat at Tuesday's performance by The Gesualdo Six. It was great!

Monaco Christmas village opens officially tomorrow evening at 17:00. This year there's a New Orleans theme, but you'll still find all your favourite food stalls, the big wheel, and the ice-rink. Also be aware that Friday evening will be busy in Fontvieille as the derby match between Monaco and Nice starts at 20:45 (NOTE: canceled).

The Mairie is still collecting toys and games in excellent condition this afternoon at Espace Leo Ferre (see 29 Nov 2018 newsletter), and Olivia Brazier has another exhibition opening in Beausoleil, at Ascot Business Services, 33 Boulevard Leclerc.

And finally, it's a public holiday on Saturday, celebrating the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. Enjoy!

What's in the diary ....

Thursday: La Spirita Christmas Baroque.
Friday: Vivanova Christmas party.
Saturday: Chemin des Creches.
Sunday: Slava's SnowShow.

Coming up next week: Christmas tree auction, a political debate, and children sing for Christmas.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
(1) This week's quote is the title of a 1937 British comedy film, the title role of which was played by English actor Will Hay, born this day 1888. It was his best known role.
