What's new

It's International Literacy Day today, a fitting celebration for the first day back at school. Here in the maBoum office we've been back at work for a couple of weeks already, searching for events, checking out new restaurants and discovering new venues. If you haven't already heard, there's now a karaoke lounge in Monaco called L'Eto, established where Black Legend used to be.

Business lunch is back on the menu at many places. We spotted a two- or three-courses deal at La Maree, priced 23 or 29 euros with coffee. Other restaurants are enticing the after work crowd with music. Check out the terrace at new place, Sensais Monaco, tomorrow and Saturday evening.

Following our report last week (1 September newsletter) we're sad to confirm that Abbondanza da Francesco restaurant has closed. Just across the road, Pizza et Co has announced that it is going into liquidation too, unlike the foie gras sandwich shop Dubernet in Fontvieille shopping centre. We hear it's expanding and moving into Mullot cafe opposite.

Finally, Saturday is closing night at the Open Air Cinema. At time of writing the last movie to be screened remains a surprise.

What's in the diary ....

Thursday: Guest karaoke.
Friday: Vivanova after work party.
Saturday: Up and Down.
Sunday: Moneghetti street market.

Coming up next week, an outing on a boat, networking with JCEM, and a wine tasting class.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
