A morning lecture and discussion by Tina Waldeier Bizzarro, followed by a collaborative workshop in the afternoon led by Susan Kelly Vonmedicus. Part of the American Ireland Fund Summer School on the History of Irish Book Illumination of the Golden Age.
- 11:00-12:00, traditional early medieval illuminated books in the western tradition and the counter-development, in Ireland, of a different page format, as well as non-narrative, decorative tradition
- 13:30-16:30, Lettering a Latin Psalm, students make a page of a psalm in Latin in the style of the Cathach of Saint Columba
