What's new
There've been several changes in the restaurant and bar world of the Principality recently. In Fontvieille Port, Le Loft re-launched as Modjo Monaco last week, as a bar, lounge and restaurant. The menu includes Japanese gyoza dumplings, a welcome addition to local food offerings and a tasty alternative to the more ubiquitous sushi.
In Monte Carlo, Sakura reopens on 20 May. The Japanese restaurant closed last November and now has a new chef/owner promising to serve both French and Japanese dishes.
Fairmont Monte Carlo's rooftop pool and bar opened at the beginning of May, and this year is hosting a pop-up version of the Nikki Beach club throughout the season. No doubt it'll be busy during Grand Prix, but if you can't reserve a spot there, check out our annual Grand Prix party guide, where we've listed lots of alternative places to dance the night away.
