What's new

It's International Women's Day tomorrow, and as if to celebrate, two of this week's VO movies feature female characters. First, fresh from winning the best actress Oscar for The Favourite, Olivia Colman plays Queen Anne, one of Britain's lesser known monarchs. Second, Brie Larson plays Captain Marvel in the latest portrayal of a superhero, with generally favourable critical reviews.

The Government is marking the occasion with an exhibition at the Ministry of State, by graffiti artist Mr One Teas, aka Anthony Alberti. Entitled #8MarsMonaco, its aim is to raise awareness of gender inequality.

And finally, some of you may remember Maryan Gandon, a former chef at the Fairmont Monte Carlo and the Majestic Cannes. If you were a fan of the Breton's creations, you'll be pleased to know that he's opened a small place in Nice, called Zorzetto, on rue Dalpozzo. Phone +33 4 89 24 83 14 for more information.
