What's new

No Finish Line (NFL) starts on Saturday, raising funds for the Children and Future association. The annual non-stop fun run's course is open 24/7 up to 19 November, and takes in Princess Grace Rose Garden and Fontvieille Park. For every 1km completed by participants, whether running, jumping, walking or skipping, 1 euro is donated to charity.

Hoping to take advantage of the increase in visitors to Fontvieille, Beefbar is promoting a 100 euros evening meal during the eight days of NFL. For every menu ordered (check it out on Beefbar's facebook page), 20 euros will be donated to Children and Future. If you're not into heavy evening meals, you could always take lunch at your favourite restaurant, donate 20 euros of your own, then tie up your trainers, work off your lunch, and raise some money on the NFL track.

Speaking of lunchtime menus and favourite restaurants, one of ours is losing its chef. SenSais's Pascal Silman is setting up his own culinary consulting company called French Cook Consulting. We've yet to discover who'll be replacing him in the kitchen.

And finally, spare a thought for all those affected by armed conflict this weekend. It's Remembrance Sunday, commemorating the 1918 armistice, and a time when we remember those who have died in war.
